I am getting serious strife about not updating this enough. So it's time to start doing so...
Just got back from Miami for my 6th or 7th WMC in a row. Quite possibly the best one. Stayed with 3 of my lovely girlfriends - Sayeh, Kate (K8), and Stacy - at a great little spot on 8th and Ocean (Casa Grande Suites).
First night included a little cameo in Nadia Ali's new music video "Call My Name" (a track she's featured on with Sultan and Ned Shepard) shot at The Wall (the W) during the annual Bullitt Bookings party. Throughout the conference was able to grace a few fantastic day parties (like Afternoon Delight where we heard Andy Caldwell and Miguel Migs, a rooftop pool party with Paolo Mojo), and a bunch of different night parties.
But by far, my favorite moment of the trip was walking on the boardwalk with some amazing new friends from Puerto Rico & all my girlfriends and stopping in front of the Beatport pool party on Sunday just in time to hear Afrojack drop his remix of "Hide & Seek" - amazing. I attached a little video that captured some of the magic. A little dancing with Kate never hurt nobody (but she will school you, so don't try to keep up, just enjoy the show). And yes, I'm drinking Fosters out of a brown bag. This was the freakin boardwalk. Insane.
Of course the business end was great! Had a few meetings with some fantastic producers. WMC is always a great way to kick your musical butt into gear...
And finally! Working on the new contract for "Slip Away" a super lovely track I'm doing with Starkillers & Austin Leeds. So excited for this one...
Back to the grind...

Newbie in downtown LA
I'm now based in Los Angeles as I've been working with 2 incredibly talented guys: Carlos Bonilla (aka Quix / aka DJ Quixotic ) and Andrew Clark (aka Brontosaurus) on the solo stuff. You can get a feel for our collabs when you listen to 'Behave' on my myspace or my website. We're working on a ton of stuff, so stay tuned.
I'm also working with another amazing composer, Christopher Manik, on a few more electronic driven tracks (gotta stick with my roots). We're currently working on releasing our first LP which will feature tracks called 'Running' and 'Higher.'
And of course, 'Shoudda Been There' and 'Twilight' are already released and available for download on Amazon and Beatport.
And a mailing list will soon be generated, so feel free to start sending your email to info@janisleahy.com to get added!
Thanks to all 12 of my amazing fans. I love you all - thanks for keeping me focused :-)
